The need to maintain social distance – to each other and maintain hygiene to oneself – during this crisis was key among the messages put forth by community volunteers from Savar as part of the HBCC Project organized by Save the Children and Social and Economic Enhancement Programme- SEEP in support of Unilever.
Amena Begum, a resident of ward 8 shares, “To avoid the COVID-19 virus, we have to follow a new way of life and information properly. Unfortunately, many in my community still cling to unhealthy cultural beliefs that need to be changed.” She adds, “After the awareness conducted by the volunteers of SEEP, people are slowly adapting to the guidelines which are a good sign. As a community member, I started the effort to share what I have learned.”
